Benefits of Membership

Resource Sharing - The RCD provides opportunities for communities to share best practices and resources for progressive rural development
Relationship Building - Opportunities to build relationships with colleagues from other rural communities, resource providers, and policy makers
Collective Influence - Speaking with a united voice, the RCD is intended to be greater than the sum of its parts. Our advocacy initiatives will carry shared messages farther and faster through the political and civic channels of opportunity.
Promote Regionalism - The RCD aims to strengthen our regional attractiveness to developers, financiers, entrepreneurs, expanding businesses, consumers, tourists, etc. We can accomplish this by identifying, sharing, articulating and communicating our collective assets.
Monthly Networking Meetings - Each member community has an opportunity to host a meeting and showcase their achievements. Meetings are informal and feature a guest speaker on topics of strategic interest. Past topics have included legislative updates, telecommunications, rural development, environmental issues, emergency management, entrepreneurship, and many others.
